Emilie Carrière, Development Coordinator
Emilie Carrière is an environmental professional with several years of experience leading programs at the intersection of ecology, sustainable development, and community engagement. Her path into environmental leadership is rooted in a deep, personal connection to nature. Raised in rural Eastern Ontario, Emilie spent her childhood exploring the nearby forests, wetlands, and banks of the Ottawa River - environments that instilled in her both a sense of wonder and responsibility. From her early experiences as a canoe-camping guide to her years spent leading leisure hikes and expeditions, the outdoors have always been where Emilie feels most grounded, and where her commitment to conservation began.
Throughout her career, Emilie has held leadership roles in environmental programming, coordinating diverse stakeholder collaborations, and managing multidisciplinary teams. Whether directing operations in Montreal’s eco-districts, partnering with municipalities on sustainability strategies, or developing national awareness campaigns to promote ethical outdoor practices, she brings a well-rounded perspective that bridges ecological goals with the needs of local communities.
She is currently completing a master’s degree in Environmental Science with a focus on Nature-Based Solutions, deepening her knowledge and capacity to deliver tangible, science-based approaches to conservation and climate adaptation.
Her career reflects a consistent drive to work and lead with impact, curiosity, and clarity to reach the most effective and lasting results in protecting natural ecosystems. She believes in fostering collective action that ensures the natural environments we all depend on are protected and restored, while also helping people thrive alongside them.
She brings to the Nature-Based Solutions Foundation (NBSF) a strong track record of building successful partnerships across sectors to advance environmental protection and public awareness. Emilie is drawn to NBSF’s commitment to protecting the most at-risk and irreplaceable ecosystems—work she considers indispensable to our collective future.
When she’s not working, you’ll find Emilie exploring new winter sports, introducing friends and family to her favorite forests, canoe routes, and backcountry trails. No matter the season, she is never far from a trail or a lake, and is always passionate about sharing the joy and responsibility that comes with being in nature.
